Seek Truth…

  1. The truth by whose lights?

I don’t seek truth any more. I seek understanding. The truth might change, but if you understand what’s going on, if you understand why it changes, how it changes, you at least stand a chance of moving with it. Maybe.

  2. There is truth and there is understanding. About some things there are absolute truths – about nature. We might only understand rather than *know* those truths, but in honest pursuit of the truth, we gain understanding.

  3. He who knows not and knows not that he knows not is a fool; avoid him.
He who knows not and knows that he knows not is a student; teach him.
He who knows and knows not that he knows is asleep; wake him.
He who knows and knows that he knows is a wise man; follow him.

  4. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
THE truth…not a truth. Know Jesus, and you will know truth. Avoid or ignore Him and you ignore or avoid the truth.

    • Then why does the pursuit of empirical truth lead away from god? If god is THE Truth, then no truth if any kind can ever lead one away from god, because everything that is true would and could only reflect god.

Or will you for the umpteenth time ignore this question?
